Afghanistan's armed forces attacked a Pakistani nuclear facility and military base in Kakol, resulting in mass casualties.
According to Ariana News, hundreds of dead and wounded were taken to the PIMS state hospital in Islamabad following the strikes on February 27.
The escalation came in response to actions by the Pakistani side, which had previously struck the Barmal district in Afghanistan's Paktika province, killing three civilians.
Afghanistan's military operation began as a retaliatory measure against Pakistani airstrikes on the provinces of Khost, Paktia, and Nuristan. It is reported that fighting has now resumed along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, affecting multiple border districts.
The conflict has escalated into active combat involving heavy weaponry, significantly destabilizing the regional situation.
