Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with advisor Suma Chakrabarti on February 23 to discuss economic development, effective governance, and international cooperation. The meeting focused on implementing the "Uzbekistan — 2030" strategy, expanding women's economic opportunities, improving the education system, and enhancing communication with investors.

In an interview with "Uzbekistan 24" TV channel, Suma Chakrabarti praised the steady pace of reforms. She stated that the sides discussed Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), joining the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), establishing the Tashkent International Commercial Court, and organizing the Tashkent Global Development Forum.

Chakrabarti described WTO accession as a "significant historical step." An EITI delegation is expected to visit Tashkent soon. The Tashkent International Commercial Court is designed to protect investor rights and resolve disputes based on international standards.

The president-approved work program for this year includes initiatives to increase women's participation in the labor market, equalize education standards, and expand road show events. Chakrabarti noted the success of the London road show and mentioned plans for a similar event in Abu Dhabi.
