On August 10, a large-scale drone attack targeted multiple industrial and civilian facilities in Nizhnekamsk, Republic of Tatarstan. According to the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan, seven Uzbek citizens were killed in the incident.

Tatarstan law enforcement agencies reported that a total of 13 people died and 39 sustained injuries of varying severity. Initially, 75 people sought medical assistance, with 21 hospitalized. Later, officials updated the number of injured to 48.

The Consulate General expressed deep condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased. The consulate stated that the situation is under control and that necessary contacts have been established with local authorities and investigative bodies to clarify the circumstances.

It was also added that efforts are underway to repatriate the bodies of the deceased citizens after forensic examination and all required official procedures are completed. The consulate continues to monitor the situation closely.

On the morning of August 10, Tatarstan officials confirmed that drones had attacked industrial and civilian objects in Nizhnekamsk. In response, August 10 was declared a day of mourning in Tatarstan. Russian investigative authorities have opened a criminal case under the article on terrorist acts.

Russian officials claim that the attack was carried out by Ukrainian armed formations. Overnight, temporary flight restrictions were imposed at Nizhnekamsk Airport, which were later lifted by Rosaviatsia.

Nizhnekamsk hosts two major oil refineries: the TANEKO complex, owned by Tatneft, and TAIF-NK. According to the publication Vot Tak, TANEKO had previously been targeted by Ukrainian drones four times, while TAIF-NK was attacked once. Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that Ukrainian drones struck the Taneko refinery in Nizhnekamsk, causing a fire.
