A cargo Boeing 767 veered off the runway upon landing at Miami International Airport and burst into flames, killing at least five people and injuring five others, according to local rescue services.

Three of the injured are in critical condition. The aircraft overran the runway and collided with vehicles parked near an adjacent logistics complex, sparking a fire that forced rescuers to evacuate people from the damaged cars.

The plane was operating cargo flight 7598 from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in Puerto Rico. The aircraft was operated by 21 Air on behalf of Amazon Air.

Following the accident, airport operations were temporarily restricted, with some flights delayed or canceled. The airport later resumed arrivals and departures, but passengers were warned of potential delays.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation, with investigators arriving at the scene.
