Following the recent appointment of Oybek Yuldashev as the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science, footage of his performance at the 2024 'Stixiya' electronic music festival unexpectedly circulated widely across social media platforms, sparking considerable public interest and largely positive reactions regarding his artistic pursuits.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the InnoWeek-2026 international innovation ideas week, Yuldashev elaborated on the origins of his electronic music journey, which began in the late 1990s through exposure to trance tracks and comprehensive music collections brought by relatives. His musical horizons expanded further during his master's studies in the United Kingdom between 2001 and 2002, where international peers introduced him to house and other sophisticated electronic genres.

Despite occasionally performing at prominent local events like the Stixiya festival, Yuldashev humbly maintains that he does not consider himself a professional DJ, classifying his activities strictly as a dedicated bedroom DJ hobby focused on home-based track curation and independent mix preparation. Additionally, during the interview, he confirmed his lineage as the grandson of the renowned Uzbek poet Gafur Gulam.

Addressing how he intends to balance his creative endeavors with high-level governmental duties following his transition from PwC Uzbekistan, Yuldashev acknowledged that his capacity to continue DJing will depend heavily on his demanding official workload and family responsibilities. He emphasized that current priorities remain firmly focused on fulfilling his new administrative obligations within the ministry.
