US President Donald Trump has dismissed calls to slow down the development of artificial intelligence (AI), labeling them a "SICK conspiracy" that only benefits China. He claimed that the only "guardrails" AI needs is a "STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT," referring to himself.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump asserted that his administration has already prevented Anthropic from doing "bad, or potentially bad" things with their technology. This follows the Pentagon's earlier attempt to brand Anthropic's models a security risk and a temporary ban on one of its advanced models.

Trump's remarks contradict warnings from industry leaders. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei cautioned that without control, AI agents could take over the entire internet within six to twelve months. OpenAI's Sam Altman has also called for greater government regulation. Microsoft published its own code of conduct to ensure human control over AI.

The ongoing debate has rattled markets, with AI-related stocks falling worldwide. Shares of chipmaker Nvidia dropped 3.5%, while Elon Musk's SpaceX fell 1.7%.

Trump's statement is likely to deepen tensions between the US regime and the tech sector. Critics argue his focus on a "strong president" overlooks serious AI safety concerns.
