️ A Palestinian man was killed and 16 others sustained injuries following a violent assault by settlers in the northern occupied West Bank, Palestinian authorities have reported. The incident unfolded as local farmers attempted to harvest olives on agricultural lands, with witnesses and officials claiming the attackers operated under the protection of the Israeli regime's military forces.
️ The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the victim as 44-year-old Ali Hassan Yasser al-Bazzari from Burqa, northwest of Nablus, who reportedly died from wounds sustained during the raid. According to the Wafa news agency, citing local sources, several of the wounded—including a woman—were rushed to hospitals in Tulkarem and Nablus for urgent medical intervention.
️ The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) stated that its medical teams treated five individuals in the vicinity, noting that two suffered from live gunshot wounds while three others were severely beaten. Furthermore, the PRCS alleged that forces of the Israeli regime obstructed emergency response efforts by assaulting ambulance crews attempting to reach the wounded and briefly detaining three paramedics alongside a volunteer.
️ Reporting from Ramallah, Al Jazeera's Nida Ibrahim highlighted that such escalations have deeply disrupted the olive harvest season, turning a vital cultural and economic period into a hazardous ordeal. Ibrahim noted that ongoing restrictions and continuous assaults by armed settlers have crippled farming activities, with at least 45,000 olive trees reportedly destroyed across the occupied West Bank over the course of the year.
