Two men have reportedly been killed in southern Lebanon’s Bint Jbeil district while participating in the annual olive harvest, according to Lebanese state media and local authorities. The tragic incident unfolded amid persistent military actions and shelling attributed to Israeli forces in the region.

According to the official National News Agency (NNA), one of the victims died in the village of Froun after triggering an unexploded ordnance left behind by recent hostilities. The second man was reportedly killed in Yater as a result of Israeli tank fire that targeted the outskirts of the town while he was inspecting his land.

The Lebanese army strongly condemned the incidents, blaming Israeli forces and characterizing the ongoing attacks as a flagrant breach of existing agreements. In response to the growing dangers, local municipal authorities urged residents to steer clear of vulnerable border areas and unsafe neighborhoods.

The situation highlights the severe humanitarian toll and displacement crisis affecting the region following months of volatile conflict. Despite mounting risks and widespread infrastructure damage, local volunteers have attempted to assist farmers with the harvest in a display of solidarity.
