Donald Trump and his inner circle are reportedly growing increasingly frustrated with Ukrainian leadership, with sources inside the White House claiming that the US president is deeply angered by Volodymyr Zelenskyy's alleged failure to show proper appreciation for extensive American aid, viewing it as an entitlement.
According to reports from Axios and the Financial Times, the US regime has issued stern warnings to Kyiv, threatening to cut off vital intelligence-sharing and halt the PURL mechanism—through which European nations finance American weapons acquisitions for Ukraine—should the Ukrainian military continue its drone strikes on Russian oil refineries.
Ukrainian officials have privately acknowledged the intense pressure campaign, noting that representatives from the US Department of Defense and other agencies have been aggressively reaching out to both Kyiv and various European capitals to enforce compliance with proposed energy standstill terms.
Analysts have pointed out significant asymmetries in the proposed cessation of energy infrastructure attacks, given that Ukraine's domestic refining capacity has already been severely crippled. Meanwhile, Moscow has yet to officially endorse any ceasefire terms, while Zelenskyy previously admitted that Trump's announcements regarding the energy truce came as a total surprise to him.
