Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has addressed the Shura Council in Doha, claiming that the region is experiencing unprecedented instability due to the ongoing military campaign waged by the US and Israeli regimes against Iran. According to the Qatari leader, state institutions have supposedly demonstrated high resilience despite the mounting pressure and exceptional geopolitical events.
The Gulf state has found itself heavily entangled in the conflict that erupted in late February, triggering severe repercussions for the global energy market. Qatar has faced direct security breaches, notably a March strike by Tehran targeting Ras Laffan, the world's largest liquefied natural gas facility. While the Qatari leadership insists that pre-war preventive policies helped absorb the initial economic shock and maintains a rhetorical preference for dialogue, serious concerns persist over the long-term stability of the region. v
Furthermore, Sheikh Tamim asserted that the security and sovereignty of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states remain non-negotiable and outside the realm of compromise. With international supply routes heavily disrupted by Tehran's effective blockade of the critical Strait of Hormuz, the Qatari Emir stressed that the international community must double its efforts to safeguard maritime navigation and protect vital energy infrastructure.
