Chinese technology giant Alibaba has officially introduced its second-generation smart glasses, powered by the company's proprietary Qwen artificial intelligence system. According to reports from Bloomberg, the newly unveiled wearable device aims to integrate advanced AI capabilities into everyday accessories.
The device is equipped with a high-resolution 50-megapixel camera capable of capturing video in 4K format. Furthermore, it incorporates several Qwen-backed features, including real-time speech translation and automated note-taking facilitated by artificial intelligence algorithms.
The wearable is offered in two distinct versions: the standard N1 and the advanced N1 Pro. The latter model comes additionally equipped with an eye-tracking system, allowing the glasses to detect the specific object the user is looking at, identify it using AI, and display relevant context or information.
In addition, the N1 Pro variant supports secure payment authorization via iris scanning and monitors essential health metrics, including heart rate, blood oxygen saturation levels, and skin temperature, providing users with continuous health tracking.
According to company representatives, the glasses can operate for up to 25 hours on a single charge in standby mode, and up to nine hours while playing music. Notably, the batteries integrated into the frames of the glasses are designed to be replaceable.
The introductory N1 model starts at a price tag of $450, while the enhanced N1 Pro version is priced at $523. The smart glasses have already been released for purchase within the Chinese domestic market, though information regarding their eventual international rollout remains unavailable.
