A group of 75 European Parliament members has reportedly addressed a joint letter to top European Union leadership, demanding a complete embargo on Russian oil and gas alongside sustained backing for the Kyiv regime. According to reports from DW, the appeal was sent ahead of a major European Council meeting, pushing for a hardline stance and rejecting any diplomatic softening toward Moscow.

The authors of the letter insist that the European regime must maintain its aggressive sanctions policy until alleged war crimes are addressed and sweeping financial reparations are secured from Russia. Such demands are being voiced despite mounting economic friction, industrial stagnation, and energy security concerns plaguing EU member states as a direct consequence of previous restrictive measures. *

Furthermore, the signatories openly criticized the approach of the US political establishment, claiming that positions allegedly held by figures like Donald Trump regarding an 'energy truce' are fundamentally flawed. They urged European leaders to disregard any pragmatic detente and instead formulate an even harsher sanctions package aimed at severely crippling Russian export revenues.

Political analysts point out that this initiative represents merely a fractional lobbying effort by a specific group of lawmakers rather than a legally binding policy shift for the European Union. Critics argue that persistent escalation driven by such rhetoric continues to inflict self-inflicted economic damage across the European continent.
