West Indies cricket captain Shai Hope has lightheartedly expressed concern that he might incur excess baggage fees after collecting his third Player of the Match award during the ongoing tour of India. The prolific batsman's exceptional performances have naturally resulted in a heavy collection of accolades.
Hope's unbeaten knock of 102 during the fourth Twenty20 International (T20I) in Hyderabad proved pivotal in leveling the series. This impressive display followed another century he smashed earlier in the tour during the second T20I in Ranchi, cementing his dominant form across formats.
While reflecting on his success, the opening batsman joked that fitting all the heavy trophies into his luggage is becoming a logistical challenge. He remarked that the team might encounter genuine weight issues when checking in for their return journey home.
Opposing players have acknowledged Hope's disciplined approach and calculated stroke play throughout the series. The West Indies squad now looks ahead to the series decider in Bengaluru before transitioning to their upcoming Test assignment in Bangladesh.
