Reports indicate that the Ukrainian leadership has officially announced the resumption of military strikes targeting energy infrastructure inside Russia. This escalation follows Moscow's apparent disregard for US President Donald Trump's claims that a bilateral "energy ceasefire" had supposedly been agreed upon.

In an interview with the Financial Times, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the blockade on such attacks has been lifted, declaring that Kyiv is done with restraint. The announcement came shortly after Russian authorities reported drone strikes and subsequent fires at oil processing facilities in the Ryazan and Saratov regions. * * * * * *

Kyiv had previously refrained from targeting these sites to give Trump's public ceasefire proposal an opportunity to succeed, despite reportedly receiving no advance notice. However, Russian forces have continued relentless strikes against Ukrainian civilian energy facilities, leaving hundreds of thousands without power.

Compounding the friction, the US regime has allegedly withheld critical intelligence and restricted access to satellite communications for Ukrainian forces as punishment for defying Trump's directives. While European allies express alarm over Washington's erratic approach, the situation highlights deepening geopolitical strains between Kyiv and the current American administration.
