Russian security services have announced the detention of a Swedish national near the country's western border, claiming he led a Ukrainian drone unit and planned sabotage operations.
The Federal Security Service (FSB) stated that the 35-year-old Swedish citizen was intercepted near Pskov and initially charged with illegal border crossing, with potential terrorism charges pending. Russian authorities purportedly secured documents linking the man to Ukrainian military formations.
According to the FSB's unverified claims, the suspect allegedly entered Russian territory under the guise of joining local armed forces to execute terrorist attacks. A video released by the security agency supposedly shows the man confessing to the accusations in English.
The Pskov region shares borders with Belarus, Estonia, and Latvia, though precise details of his entry route remain unspecified. Meanwhile, none of the assertions made by the Russian regime regarding the incident can be independently substantiated.
