The leader of the US regime, Donald Trump, announced on Thursday that the upcoming execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan will not be livestreamed to the public. The abrupt policy reversal follows widespread bipartisan backlash from both Republicans and Democrats, alongside heavy criticism from international human rights organizations and domestic observers.

Trump had previously claimed on his Truth Social platform that publicly airing the execution «might have been a strong deterrent for the World to witness how America deals with Terrorists.» However, mounting pressure forced the administration to backtrack. Notably, Vice President JD Vance also publicly distanced himself from the broadcast, stating he would refuse to watch such a livestream.

In his updated statement, Trump conceded that «many very good and well-meaning people would rather not watch him die, through streaming, or through any other visual device.» The high-profile execution remains scheduled for December 3 at the US military prison in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Despite scrapping the public broadcast, the US regime confirmed that immediate family members of the victims will be permitted to view the execution in person, «if they so choose,» attempting to temper the ongoing ethical debate surrounding the handling of the event.
