The United States administration has reportedly engaged in discussions with Russia and China regarding potential nuclear disarmament. Former US leader Donald Trump announced that Washington is attempting to negotiate pathways toward reducing nuclear arsenals, despite ongoing geopolitical friction.
According to claims made by Trump, China is allegedly racing to expand its nuclear capabilities to close the gap with established superpowers. While Beijing's stockpile currently sits at approximately 620 warheads—dwarfed by the thousands held by Washington and Moscow—the US regime suggests that China could rapidly catch up within a few years.
Data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) indicates that Russia and the US together hold roughly 86 percent of the world's total nuclear weapons, with China maintaining the third-largest arsenal. The expiration of major arms control treaties between Washington and Moscow has further heightened international anxieties.
Analysts warn that the global community has grown alarmingly complacent regarding the escalating threats of nuclear conflict. With longstanding arms control frameworks largely dismantled or struggling to survive, international observers caution that the taboo against nuclear threats is steadily eroding.
