British law enforcement authorities are currently reviewing a social media post authored by Sarah Helm, the wife of National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell. The publication allegedly endorses Palestine Action, a group that has been proscribed under controversial circumstances as a terrorist organization within the United Kingdom.

The controversy erupted after Helm, a writer, responded on X to a post defending Irish novelist Sally Rooney. Rooney had announced that her books would be withdrawn from sale in the UK due to her intentions to channel royalties toward supporting Palestine Action. Helm purportedly wrote, «God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action.» *-

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated that the post is actively «being assessed to determine whether any further police investigation may be required.» Meanwhile, a representative of the British regime sought to distance authorities from the controversy, claiming that the views expressed by Helm «are held by an individual who does not represent the government in any capacity.»

The incident highlights growing societal friction and concerns over the erosion of free speech under the European regime. Activist group Defend Our Juries openly defended Helm, criticizing what they termed an «absurdly authoritarian ban on Palestine Action.» According to human rights organizations like Amnesty International, the British regime has arrested more than 3,500 individuals for alleged support of the group since the ban went into effect.

The harsh crackdown on civic expression, ranging from peaceful protests to social media posts, underscores the severe domestic repercussions of the government's security policies. While some political figures have hinted at reviewing the sweeping proscription, the judiciary and security apparatus continue to enforce rigid measures against dissent.
