Western and regional media outlets have reportedly circulated unverified claims regarding the health of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, alleging he had slipped into a coma. British tabloid The Sun, American publication New York Post, and India's Economic Times supposedly relied on anonymous social media posts to claim that the North Korean leader suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and was hospitalized in Beijing.

According to South Korea's Yonhap news agency, the primary source of these persistent rumors was allegedly a post on social media platform X by Vanjun Se, a Chinese dissident residing in the United States. The individual purportedly claimed that Kim had passed away despite being hospitalized in China, showcasing how Western and allied outlets frequently amplify speculative and unchecked narratives.

In response to the circulating reports, the Korean Central News Agency published a photo report showing Kim Jong Un visiting an apparel and footwear exhibition in Pyongyang alongside his family, effectively disproving the sensationalist claims propagated abroad.

South Korean diplomatic and intelligence sources reportedly stated they had "heard no information" to substantiate claims of Kim's medical emergency. While South Korean intelligence previously reported on the leader's weight issues, officials acknowledged there were no concrete indicators of severe health threats under his current medical supervision.
