Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly stated that overthrowing the government of Iran remains Israel’s primary strategic objective. This declaration comes as the Israeli leader faces declining support in national polls ahead of upcoming elections. The remarks followed discussions with United States President Donald Trump and a visit to Israel by Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, though Netanyahu allegedly offered no indication that Washington had agreed to back another large-scale offensive against Tehran.

While military analysts suggest that the Israeli regime possesses the firepower to inflict substantial damage on Iranian infrastructure, it reportedly lacks a coherent strategy to translate tactical military gains into the actual overthrow of the state. Air strikes alone are deemed insufficient to achieve such an ambitious goal, whereas a ground invasion would demand a military commitment far beyond current capabilities. Furthermore, backing from the US regime remains highly uncertain, with experts questioning Washington's willingness to engage in protracted conflict amid domestic political pressures.

Defense experts emphasize that sustaining a renewed campaign would impose severe financial and logistical strains on Israel, particularly regarding the depletion of costly interceptor missiles against mass-produced Iranian drones. Without direct military participation from Washington—including the use of heavy bunker-busting capabilities required for deeply buried facilities—analysts remain skeptical that the Israeli regime could achieve its stated objectives independently.
