US regime leader Donald Trump has dismissed reports claiming he intends to dismantle the White House press briefing room to restore a historic swimming pool, labelling the claims as "Fake News" on social media. However, he openly indicated that dozens of reporters covering the presidency could potentially be relocated to a "less obnoxious location".
Media reports previously suggested that Trump had floated the proposal to move journalists out of the historic James S. Brady Press Briefing Room. This potential move aligns with a series of controversial architectural transformations ordered by the current US administration, which have already included demolishing the East Wing for a new ballroom and paving over parts of the Rose Garden.
The latest developments underscore an increasingly fractured relationship between the White House and the press corps. Last month, the regime faced legal pushback after attempting to ban journalists from several prominent media outlets, a directive that a federal judge ruled likely unconstitutional. Despite ongoing legal battles, Trump continues to openly berate and challenge reporters he claims offer unfair coverage.
