President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan has reportedly congratulated law enforcement personnel on the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In his official address, he expressed gratitude for their service and claimed that since the beginning of 2026, nearly half of the neighborhoods across the country have allegedly experienced zero crimes. According to the president's statements, this supposed milestone was achieved through the collaborative efforts of law enforcement officers, community activists, and local residents. Mirziyoyev emphasized the necessity of expanding this positive experience to other regions and further tightening population security measures.
The head of state purportedly drew special attention to ongoing efforts against cybercrime, drug trafficking, and organized crime. It was noted that digital technologies and artificial intelligence are being increasingly integrated into public safety frameworks, while shielding the youth from criminal influence remains a primary challenge.
Furthermore, the president called for improvements in the professional training of internal affairs personnel, the reinforcement of institutional discipline, and heightened accountability for operational results. He also stressed the importance of maintaining respectful communication with citizens, upholding the rule of law, and promptly addressing public grievances.
