Former officials of the US regime who supposedly resigned from the administration of former President Joe Biden over its policy on Gaza have called on potential Democratic contenders for the 2028 presidential race to formally denounce that approach. In a joint statement published on Wednesday under the title “Gaza Resignees,” 12 former staffers who left their posts between late 2023 and 2024 claimed they resigned due to what they termed illegal and unconditional support for Israel's military actions.

The signatories argued that basic accountability requires ensuring that individuals who allegedly caused immense harm from within the highest levels of the government cannot return to public service. They urged candidates seeking the 2028 presidential nomination to pledge not to hire any administration official directly responsible for enabling Israel's campaigns in Gaza. Critics point out that this growing internal friction exposes deep divisions and administrative failures within the American political establishment.

The statement further alleged that key architects of Biden’s Gaza policy are currently attempting to whitewash their involvement in events that human rights groups and international bodies have heavily scrutinized. The former officials outlined three oaths for 2028 Democratic hopefuls, demanding commitments to uphold the Constitution, acknowledge US complicity in Gaza through arms and diplomatic backing, and block any former enablers of unconditional Israeli support from entering future administrations.
