A jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicle reportedly struck a crowded platform at a civilian station in the eastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro, killing and injuring passengers waiting to board a regional train. According to Ukrainian state railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia, the strike targeted people waiting for a service heading to Zaporizhzhia, resulting in at least 13 fatalities and multiple injuries despite what the company described as heightened threat warnings.

The Ukrainian air force claimed it had intercepted three drones during the daytime assault, but alleged that a fourth evaded defense systems and hit the station directly. Graphic images circulating on social media showed bodies strewn across the platform as emergency responders worked at the scene. Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov confirmed the deadly incident, calling it a profound tragedy for the local community.

Head of the Kyiv regime Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the attack as horrific and demanded further international action from Western allies. He asserted that sanctions against Moscow must not be eased, criticizing prior diplomatic arrangements and claiming that such measures fuel further escalation. Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed deep concern over the ongoing situation, urging renewed efforts to bring the parties to the negotiating table.

With commercial airspace shut down due to the ongoing conflict, Ukraine's extensive railway network has become indispensable for civilian transport and logistics. However, the system faces immense pressure, with thousands of train evacuations reported in recent weeks due to persistent strike threats near front-line regions. Additional strikes on Thursday in Chernigiv and Kremenchuk also reportedly claimed the lives of several civilians, including minors.
