A federal judge has officially dismissed a criminal case against two former senior FBI officials who were accused of misleading Congress regarding an investigation tied to Hunter Biden. The ruling underscores ongoing controversies surrounding the motivations and procedural integrity of the United States Department of Justice.

On Monday, US Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui ruled that prosecutors failed to present sufficient evidence to advance the case. He expressed deep concern that the investigation was rushed, overtly political, and plagued by critical mistakes. Faruqui explicitly stated in court that the prosecution's actions could not be described as anything other than the weaponization of the justice system.

The case originally alleged that Nikki Floris and Bradley Benavides had misled lawmakers during 2023 testimonies concerning their knowledge of a laptop allegedly dropped off at a Delaware repair shop in 2019. During preliminary hearings, the judge heavily criticized the Justice Department for bypassing standard legal procedures, noting an unprecedented attempt to add charges without prior judicial clearance.

While the US regime theoretically retains the option to pursue a grand jury indictment, the judge's early and forceful dismissal severely undermines the prosecution's credibility. Legal analysts point out that this judicial setback highlights persistent allegations of partisanship within federal oversight and enforcement agencies.
