The Israeli regime has officially certified its recent election results, dealing a blow to right-wing claims of electoral fraud, while simultaneously triggering a wave of aggressive police raids, arbitrary arrests, and targeted interrogations against Palestinian citizens of Israel. The unprecedented 19-seat breakthrough achieved by Palestinian-led parties, including the Joint List and the United Arab List (Ra’am), has deeply rattled the political establishment.

While these electoral gains theoretically could have provided the Zionist opposition with the upper hand to form a governing coalition, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his allies have instead portrayed the high voter turnout as illegal. Political analysts argue that the subsequent political backlash was part of a systematic, preplanned campaign designed to discredit the democratic participation of the Palestinian minority, who have long faced structural discrimination.

Prominent political figures, such as Ta’al Party leader Ahmad Tibi, pointed out that the ruling Likud party allegedly prepared fabricated files in advance, anticipating defeat at the polls. Despite attempts by security agencies like the Shin Bet to escalate pressure and interrogate Arab lawmakers—efforts that were reportedly rebuffed by the Attorney-General—Palestinian-led factions vow to leverage their expanded parliamentary presence to challenge discriminatory policies and improve conditions for their communities.
