An inspector from the “Fergana Water Supply” enterprise was physically assaulted while performing his official duties in the Fergana Region of Uzbekistan. The incident occurred on March 9 in the Uzbekistan District, where the inspector was conducting a routine check of water meters at a residential property.

According to the General Prosecutor’s Office, the inspector visited a house on Sochtepa Street and identified an unregistered water meter, subsequently documenting the violation. However, the resident, Fazliddin Pardayev, resisted the inspector’s actions, leading to a confrontation. Reports indicate that Pardayev struck the inspector with a wooden block, causing bodily injuries.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 219 of the Criminal Code in response to the assault. The suspect has been detained, and investigative actions are underway. This incident highlights ongoing challenges in ensuring the safety of public utility workers during enforcement operations.
