According to Uzhydromet, unstable spring weather is expected in early March. On the first day of spring, most regions will experience dry weather with temperatures of +12…+17°C.
From March 2, moist air masses from the southwest will begin to enter Uzbekistan. Rainfall is forecast across the republic, with rain and snow possible in mountainous areas. Until the end of the first decade, precipitation will be periodic: intermittent rain in the plains, and rain and snow in the mountains. Temperatures during this period are expected to be around +10…+15°C (within climatic norms), possibly dropping to +6…+9°C on some days.
In the second and third decades, nighttime temperatures will range from +3…+8°C to +8…+13°C, while daytime temperatures will vary from +12…+17°C to +23…+28°C. Cooling periods will be short, while warming periods will be prolonged.
In March, average temperatures are typically 5-8°C higher than in February. On the warmest days, especially in the latter half of the month, sunshine can heat the air to +23…+33°C. Recent years have seen significant warming in March, but the weather remains variable.
March is considered one of the wettest months of the year. Average precipitation ranges from 10-125 mm, with higher amounts in foothill and mountainous areas and lower amounts in desert zones. In recent years, March 2022 was the rainiest, with some regions recording 400-450% above normal precipitation levels.
