The Israeli government and military leadership have held a series of meetings amid a potential military scenario involving US strikes on Iran. This was reported by The Times of Israel, citing sources.
According to the publication, preparations intensified after US-Iran nuclear talks, which US officials assess as having low prospects.
One senior US official called the February 17 meeting "pointless," while another stated that Tehran has until the end of the month to agree to a deal and receive a package of significant concessions.
US sources also claim that US President Donald Trump is allegedly close to making a decision on a large-scale military operation against Iran.
Against this backdrop, Israeli authorities conducted consultations at all levels. According to official estimates, the likelihood of a US military operation remains high, but it is still unknown whether a possible strike would be joint or carried out solely by US forces.
"Timelines are shrinking, and this pertains to military readiness. Ultimately, one person will make the decision," said an unnamed senior Israeli official, hinting at the US president.
