Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. On March 26, a solemn ceremony was held at the “Kuksaroy” residence to officially welcome President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, who arrived in Uzbekistan on a state visit. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev greeted the distinguished guest and invited him to the podium. In honor of the visit, the national flags of both countries were raised, and a military band performed the national anthems of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. An honor guard lined up before the heads of state.
The leaders of the two countries inspected the honor guard and greeted members of the official delegations. After the ceremony and joint photography, the presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan proceeded to negotiations. It is recalled that President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan arrived in Tashkent on March 26 for a two-day state visit.
The visit program, scheduled for March 26–27, includes high-level negotiations in both restricted and expanded formats. A key event will be the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council chaired by the heads of both republics. The parties intend to discuss issues of strengthening strategic partnership and alliance, expanding political dialogue, as well as deepening industrial cooperation and ensuring water and energy security in the region.
On the first day of the visit, Emomali Rahmon, accompanied by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, laid flowers at the “Independence and Humanism” monument, honoring the memory and cultural heritage of the Uzbek people. This gesture underscores the cultural and historical ties between the two neighboring states.
