Iranian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Mohammad Ali Eskandari, at a press conference in Tashkent, denied rumors about the death of the country's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. He described the circulating information as part of a campaign to destabilize the situation in Iran.
The diplomat emphasized that rumors of Khamenei's death are aimed at creating an illusion of Iran's weakening and capitulation. He stated that the leader is "alive, healthy, and continues to perform his duties," remains among the people, and fully controls key institutions from political structures to the armed forces.
Eskandari also noted that the state system is functioning stably, and the leadership maintains control even under external pressure. He added that there is no mass exodus of population or signs of panic in the country, despite the complex situation.
The ambassador declared that Tehran does not intend to return to dialogue with Washington and insists on recognition of its rights and compensation for damages. He reminded that the US has previously violated agreed-upon deals, which heightens skepticism about future negotiations.
