Ukraine and Russia engaged in reciprocal attacks overnight, with Ukrainian drones striking Russian assets in Black Sea ports and Russia targeting several regions across Ukraine, including the capital Kyiv. Ukraine's military intelligence unit (GUR) claimed successful hits on two Russian landing ships and a radar station in Sevastopol Bay in Russian-occupied Crimea, stating the $150 million vessels were damaged and radar equipment destroyed.

On the Russian side, Ukrainian drones targeted the port of Tuapse, killing at least one person, injuring another, and damaging transport infrastructure, according to regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev. This was the second strike on the port in three days, occurring hours after a fire from a previous attack was extinguished. Russia's Defence Ministry reported that air defences destroyed 112 Ukrainian drones overnight.

Ukrainian officials reported a series of Russian attacks on Ukrainian territory overnight, affecting Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kherson, Sumy, and Zaporizhia regions. Drones hit a car in the city of Putyvl in Sumy region, injuring three women, and damaged two homes in Kyiv's Brovary district, with one person injured. Kyiv regional military administration head Mykola Kalashnyk stated that the enemy is again attacking peaceful people and homes in the region.

Russian attacks also damaged railway infrastructure in the northeastern city of Kharkiv. Over the past 24 hours, Russian strikes in Kherson region killed one person and injured seven, while four others were injured in Zaporizhia region. Moscow's forces have targeted civilian areas almost daily since the full-scale invasion over four years ago, with the United Nations reporting more than 15,000 Ukrainian civilian deaths from these assaults.

There have been several rounds of United States-brokered negotiations in recent months, but they have failed to reach an agreement to stop the fighting, and the process has further stalled since the outbreak of the US-Israel war on Iran. Even before that conflict, progress toward a peace deal in Ukraine was slow due to differences over territorial issues. Ukraine has proposed freezing the conflict along current front lines, but Russia rejects this, demanding the entirety of the Donetsk region—a condition Kyiv deems unacceptable.
