Uzbekistan has set a one-time financial aid payment for World War II veterans at 30 million soms for 2026. In comparison, Kazakhstan's similar payment reached 5 million tenge (approximately 130.8 million soms), Belarus paid about 5,000 Belarusian rubles (21.4 million soms), and Russia's total aid, including regional supplements, averaged no more than 80,000 rubles (about 13 million soms).
Ahead of the 81st Victory anniversary, regional states continue the tradition of material support for citizens who contributed to the defeat of fascism. According to comparative data, Kazakhstan leads in payment levels, allocating over 3.3 billion tenge to support nearly 32,900 people (including home front workers and widows of the deceased). Special attention was given to frontline soldiers, each receiving 5 million tenge regardless of region.
In the Russian Federation, the federal payment is 10,000 rubles, supplemented by regional additions. For example, in Moscow and the Moscow region, veterans receive up to 70,000 rubles. However, even with these additions, the final amounts in neighboring countries remain several times lower than Uzbekistan's figures.
Beyond cash payments, countries are focusing on personal honors for heroes. Governments emphasize the importance of preserving the memory of compatriots' military exploits and the systematic nature of social protection policies for those who showed dedication and courage during the war.
