Two citizens of Uzbekistan fell from the seventh floor of a building under construction in Buryatia, Russia. The incident occurred on May 8 in Ulan-Ude.

According to the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk, a tower crane operator accidentally damaged scaffolding. The workers were not wearing safety harnesses.

One victim was hospitalized with serious injuries; the other died at the scene.

Law enforcement in Buryatia has opened a criminal case under Article 217, Part 2 of the Russian Criminal Code (violation of industrial safety requirements resulting in death by negligence).
