Law enforcement agencies from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan have conducted a joint special operation that resulted in the dismantling of a transnational drug trafficking channel for narcotics of Afghan origin. The alleged organizer of the drug group was detained, and 51 kilograms of hashish were seized from him.

The operation was initiated by the Kyrgyz Service for Combating Drug Trafficking. As a result of coordinated actions with colleagues from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, a 62-year-old foreign national was apprehended. According to the agency, he had previously been repeatedly prosecuted for criminal offenses.

During the arrest, 51 kilograms of Afghan-sourced hashish were confiscated. The investigation established that the detainee was the organizer of a group involved in smuggling large quantities of narcotics from Afghanistan through Kyrgyzstan, with subsequent distribution in Uzbekistan.

The investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement is working to identify all members of the criminal group, as well as supply routes and other circumstances of the case.

Earlier, on the Tashkent-Fergana highway, police stopped a vehicle and discovered a large batch of drugs in its trunk. More than 8.9 kilograms of hashish were seized from a previously convicted driver.
