A hot air balloon lost control due to strong winds in the city of Khujand, Tajikistan, crashing onto the roofs of several houses and injuring three people, according to Asia-Plus news outlet.
The incident occurred on the evening of June 1 near the Kamoli Khujandi Theater. The balloon was brought by the company Farovon to celebrate International Children's Day. However, it is reported that the anchoring was insufficient, and the wind carried it away.
According to Khujand City Hospital No. 1, two people were admitted after the incident: Rustam Saydaliev, a 46-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, and Firuza Tursunova, 40, from Khujand. Saydaliev was inside the balloon when the rope broke, causing him to fall to the ground.
Tursunova, who was near the balloon, sustained injuries from the broken rope. Her daughter, aged 10-11, was also at the scene and suffered minor injuries.
Additionally, damage to two households whose roofs were damaged by the balloon's fall has been compensated.
