The Pervomaisky District Court in Bishkek has delivered a verdict in the high-profile criminal case known as the 'Letter 75'. Eight defendants, including former Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev, former Prosecutor General Kurmankul Zulushev, and former Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, were found guilty of preparing a violent seizure of power.

The court sentenced each defendant to four years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. However, the court applied probation to all convicts, allowing them to avoid incarceration. For three years, the former high-ranking officials and politicians will be under probation supervision and must comply with court-imposed restrictions.

All defendants were fully acquitted on charges of abuse of office. Five defendants who had been held in custody during the trial were released directly from the courtroom, with their preventive measure changed to a written undertaking not to leave the area.

The prosecution had demanded a much harsher sentence, seeking nine years of actual imprisonment for each defendant. The defense has already announced its intention to appeal the verdict. Specifically, Kamchybek Tashiev's lawyer stated that his client categorically disagrees with the decision and will seek a complete review of the sentence in a higher court.
