On September 4, Istanbul hosted a Turkish Super League clash between Basaksehir and Galatasaray, with the visitors claiming a 3-2 victory. Uzbek national team players Eldor Shomurodov and Abbosbek Fayzullaev started for the home side.

Galatasaray's Victor Osimhen opened the scoring. In the 66th minute, Basaksehir earned a penalty, which Shomurodov converted to level the match at 1-1. Five minutes later, Lucas Torreira restored Galatasaray's lead.

In the 76th minute, Galatasaray defender Davinson Sanchez scored an own goal, making it 2-2. Basaksehir was reduced to ten men in the 79th minute after Umut Bozok was sent off.

Gabriel Sara scored the winning goal for Galatasaray in the 90th minute. Shomurodov played the full match, while Fayzullaev was substituted in the 74th minute.

SofaScore rated Shomurodov's performance at 7.4 and Fayzullaev's at 6.9.

This was Shomurodov's fourth goal in four league matches this season, having scored against Kocaelispor, Trabzonspor, and Kasimpasa in previous rounds.
