Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are preparing to introduce mutual payments via national QR codes. A memorandum was signed in Almaty between Uzbekistan's HUMO payment system and Kazakhstan's National Payment Corporation. The parties intend to link the national QR infrastructures of both countries so that payments go through existing systems. Once launched, Uzbek citizens will be able to pay for goods and services using QR codes in Kazakhstan, and Kazakh citizens will be able to do the same during trips to Uzbekistan.

Another area of cooperation is direct money transfers between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Users will be able to send money to cards in the neighboring country through familiar mobile banking apps. This is expected to significantly simplify financial operations between citizens of the two states.

Specific launch dates for both services have not yet been announced. Earlier, after the launch of UzQR in Uzbekistan, users and entrepreneurs raised questions about the system's operation, including fees. The new joint project may face similar challenges.

The integration of QR payments and transfers is expected to boost tourism and business ties between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. However, questions remain regarding technical implementation and tariff policies.
