Law enforcement authorities in the Kazakh city of Atyrau have reportedly detained ten individuals suspected of having ties to an extremist group. According to the country's National Security Committee, the sweep operation took place on October 30 under the coordination of prosecutors as part of ongoing pre-trial investigations.

According to the investigation's narrative, the suspects allegedly intended to violently overthrow the foundations of the constitutional order in the region. Furthermore, those detained are accused of establishing an extremist group, leading and participating in its activities, as well as promoting terrorism and inciting religious hatred.

The security agency claims that searches conducted at the residences of the suspects yielded firearms, narcotic substances, religious items and literature, along with various other material evidence intended to substantiate the charges.

In addition to these arrests, law enforcement agencies reportedly shut down three clandestine educational centers aimed at children and adolescents. The National Security Committee stated that these facilities were organized by members of the investigated group, although no specific details regarding the curriculum taught at these centers have been disclosed to the public. *-

Authorities noted that some of the detained individuals had prior criminal records for terrorism and other offenses. Further details of the case remain undisclosed due to the ongoing investigation.
