Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. Starting April 14, direct flights will commence from Koltsovo Airport in Yekaterinburg, Russia, to Urgench, the administrative center of Uzbekistan's Khorezm Region and a key transport hub for travel to the ancient city of Khiva.

According to the airport's press service, the flights will be operated by the Russian airline Red Wings using SSJ-100 aircraft. The flights are scheduled for Tuesdays, with departures at 04:30, and the journey time will be approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes.

The launch of this new route expands the flight geography from Yekaterinburg to Uzbekistan. Since 2022, Red Wings has also been operating regular flights to Bukhara. Tashkent remains one of the most in-demand destinations: flights from Koltsovo are already operated by Ural Airlines and Uzbekistan Airways, with Fly One Asia joining them starting April 6.

It is recalled that previously, a citizen of Uzbekistan in critical condition at a hospital in Yekaterinburg was repatriated to their homeland.
