In the city of Kokand, Fergana Region, personnel from the Internal Affairs Directorate and the State Security Service have uncovered another underground educational institution where minors were being taught without authorization.
The school was found to have 17 children aged between 6 and 14 years old. Parents were reportedly paying the organizer monthly fees ranging from 100 to 150 US dollars. According to investigative data, 14 of the children were from Kokand, with the others coming from various regions across the republic.
Legal documents have already been filed against the organizer under Article 229-2 of the Criminal Code (“Violation of the procedure for teaching religious doctrines”), and investigative actions are underway. Law enforcement agencies are working to determine the conditions in which the children were kept and the specific content of the instruction they received behind closed doors.
Parents are being urged to exercise vigilance, as the illegal provision and receipt of religious education carries legal liability and may pose risks to the mental and physical health of children. The investigation continues under the supervision of relevant authorities.
