The Muslim Board of Uzbekistan has officially set the prayer times for Eid al-Fitr, as the holiday coincides with Friday, March 20. This announcement is significant for Muslims across the country, providing clear guidance for the timing of the festive prayer ceremonies.
The designated prayer times by region are as follows: Tashkent City at 7:00 AM, Samarkand Region at 7:15 AM, Bukhara at 7:10 AM, Fergana at 7:05 AM, and Karakalpakstan at 7:20 AM. In other regions, times may vary based on local schedules, but are generally expected to fall between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM.
Additionally, a holiday schedule has been announced in conjunction with Eid al-Fitr and Nowruz celebrations: employees working a five-day week will have a four-day break from March 20 to 23, while those on a six-day workweek will enjoy a three-day holiday from March 20 to 22. These days off are intended to facilitate participation in festive gatherings and family events.
Representatives from the Muslim Board emphasized the importance of communal prayer and urged all Muslims to attend mosques promptly. They also issued advisories about potential adjustments to traffic and public transport schedules during the Eid prayers to accommodate the increased attendance.
