Globally, people grappling with mental health issues require the services of qualified psychologists. However, an army of 'psychologists' flooding Instagram is managing a multi-million audience, selling their services at arbitrary prices and in any form. Dr. Gavkhar Darvish, a Doctor of Medical Sciences and psychotherapist, notes that this has become a marketing trick.

Gavkhar Darvish (Teshabayeva) states: "The law of the market is such: if there is demand, there will be supply. People always have problems, and pseudospecialists have emerged who promise to solve them. They have become very active in multiplying, freely appearing in the media, because today popularity in the media attracts more appeals. The people have pain, and they allegedly are ready to offer a solution. But this solution is not always correct. Among them, there are also real professionals in their field, but those who have occupied the media would be more accurately called under-specialists or pseudospecialists. How to recognize them? They promise to solve a problem in one session. A person experiencing pain, for example, having lost a child, wants to get rid of this grief and seeks a solution. Pseudospecialists offer a way to solve the problem in one consultation. This is a marketing trick."

According to the psychotherapist, the case of a woman who lost her son is a vivid example. She saw her son everywhere, he appeared in her dreams, and she could not imagine life without him. She fell into deep depression and fell into the hands of such a pseudospecialist. He promised to solve this problem, and it involves very large sums. In some cases, we have heard that people sold apartments to turn to such specialists. When patients do not find healing with them, they come to us—they no longer have a home, they are in debt, and so on. And the problem remains unsolved.

Darvish emphasizes that a specialist's promise to deliver results in one go is a sign that they are a pseudospecialist. People should ask where they studied, how many years of experience they have, and if they have a diploma in the specialty. Certificates hung in their office do not matter. This should be asked before going for an appointment. The fact that they have not yet completed their education, or studied under some specialist, or do not have a diploma, indicates that they are an under-specialist or outright charlatan.

It is essential to know exactly what methodology the specialist you are going to uses. You should know the name of the method they intend to apply to you. Because you cannot entrust your psyche to under-educated individuals and charlatans. The psyche is spirituality, mentality, the entire being of a person, their inner world. I would advise not to reveal this to just anyone. That is, if you go with a mental problem to a real specialist, they will offer you a solution, and it will not happen in one session. For this, you will work. You will sweat together with the specialist. You will invest time, effort, and knowledge into it. Only after a certain time, say after 3 months or 1 month, maybe after 1 year (on average after 6 months), can you find a real solution to problems."
