On April 16, Uzbek blogger Temurmalik Tojiddinzoda posted on social media, announcing the death of his father after Samarkand City Internal Affairs Department (IAD) officers took him to the Samarkand District Psychiatric Hospital. He demanded that law enforcement agencies conduct an investigation into the incident.

According to Tojiddinzoda, his father had recently been suffering from Alzheimer's disease and was being cared for at home by family members. However, on April 10, his father "mysteriously disappeared." The blogger discovered that a day later, his father had been admitted to the Samarkand District Psychiatric Hospital by Samarkand City IAD officers.

"We were furious and wanted to bring my father home that same day, but because workdays had ended (it was a Saturday), the doctors there did not tell us that the patient could only be discharged on Monday with the head's permission. We brought him home early Monday morning. However, his condition was extremely severe at that time. The 'butcher' doctors at the hospital administered drugs that had an extremely strong effect on my father's blood, and after returning home, he lay unconscious for a day and eventually died on April 14, Tuesday," writes the blogger.

Tojiddinzoda left a series of demands and questions in his post: "How did my father end up in a psychiatric hospital? Who took him there and why were family members not informed? Who and with what drugs administered the injections that led to his death? Guarantees are needed that the case will not be covered up before the expert answers come out. We must not allow some minor employee to receive a trivial punishment and the incident to be swept under the rug. The activities of the Samarkand District Psychiatric Hospital must be fundamentally reviewed, and its work process and staff qualifications must receive appropriate legal and professional assessment."

The press service of the General Prosecutor's Office commented on the case, stating that pre-investigation checks are being carried out by the prosecutor's office. A forensic medical examination has been appointed to determine the causes of the deceased's death. The agency's message says: "The checks are ensured to be comprehensive, complete, and impartial, and a legal decision will be made based on the results."
