The body of 29-year-old poet, translator, and journalist Jahongir Nomozov (known by the pseudonym Jahongir Mirzo) was discovered in his own home in the Pap district of Namangan Region, Uzbekistan. The incident occurred on April 15 around 1:00 PM, with the body found in an outbuilding of his residence in the "Pop" mahalla.

The General Prosecutor's Office confirmed the tragedy to a Podrobno.uz correspondent, stating that according to preliminary forensic examination results, the cause of death was mechanical asphyxiation. Investigators are considering a suicide version linked to changes in mental state, as no external injuries were detected on the body during inspection.

Currently, officials from the district prosecutor's office are conducting a pre-investigation check to determine the motives and all circumstances of the incident. Jahongir Nomozov was a student at the University of Journalism and Mass Communications and an active promoter of Uzbek literature on the international stage.

He served as coordinator of the group "Juntos por las Letras," represented the Turkish journal "Şiir Sarnıcı" in Uzbekistan, and was awarded the "Abay" medal from Kazakhstan. His death has sparked deep sorrow and raised questions within the literary and journalistic community, highlighting the loss of a young talent that impacts the country's cultural landscape.
