A large-scale reconstruction project has commenced at Tashkent International Airport, aimed at improving passenger comfort and service quality. The project includes the renovation of terminal buildings, runways, and other infrastructure facilities.

According to the airport administration, the renovation is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024. During this period, the airport will continue operations, though some flights may be temporarily adjusted.

The upgrades are expected to increase the airport's annual passenger capacity to 10 million, up from the current 7 million. The government has allocated $500 million from the state budget for the project.

The reconstruction plan was developed with the involvement of foreign experts and meets modern international standards. New VIP lounges, expanded customs areas, and parking facilities will be built.

Officials from the Ministry of Transport stated that the project is a crucial step in boosting Uzbekistan's tourism potential and attracting international airlines.
