According to the Center of Hydrometeorological Service of Uzbekistan (Uzhydromet), an unexpected snowfall occurred in Tashkent on March 15, 2025. This event caused inconvenience for residents and drivers.
Experts note that the snowfall is linked to a sharp drop in air temperature, which fluctuated between 0 and +5 degrees Celsius during the day. A snow layer of up to 5-10 cm formed on city streets.
Road safety experts urged drivers to be cautious, warning of a high risk of slipping on roads due to snow and ice. Traffic slowed down especially in elevated areas of the city.
The city administration has started snow-clearing operations, deploying over 50 units of special equipment. However, some segments of the population consider these measures insufficient.
Uzhydromet staff reported that temperatures may drop again in the coming days, and snowfall may continue. City residents are advised to dress warmly and avoid unnecessary travel.
