The sixth hearing in the Mirzo-Ulugbek District Court case against Sanjar Karimov (known as Real Sanjik) raised uncomfortable questions for the prosecution and forced the defendant to admit to manipulation. The court heard a forensic expert who confirmed the presence of cannabis in seized samples but admitted the lab cannot determine the pure weight of the drug due to tobacco admixture.
The defense argued that under a Supreme Court plenum ruling, only the pure weight of the narcotic should be considered, not the total weight of the mixture. The expert stated the lab lacks equipment for separate analysis. Moreover, it emerged that the two operatives who conducted the seizure were not part of the official investigation team and acted on oral orders from superiors. The defense claims this renders all evidence inadmissible.
The most tense moment came when the court played audio recordings provided by victim Feruza Rakhmatullayeva. In the recording, Karimov instructs her on how to testify, promises to hire a lawyer, and claims that earlier offensive recordings were AI-generated fakes. In court, Karimov admitted lying about AI out of fear of imprisonment: 'I said what she wanted to hear. If she asked for a greeting from Trump, I would have said Trump sends his regards.'
Regarding the phrase 'you will see your son's coffin,' Karimov claimed it was not a threat but a 'prediction' that the victim's son, who allegedly cheated half the city, would be 'rotten alive' by other inmates. The judge pointed out a contradiction: Karimov previously denied offering legal help, but the recording proves otherwise. The judge reprimanded defense lawyers for prompting the defendant.
A key outcome was the decision to return the Olimboyevs' house. The court partially granted the defense's motion to lift the seizure for re-registration to Shakhlo Olimboyeva. The parties agreed to use a sale-purchase agreement. The judge stated he would not interfere in the transaction form.
The defense filed a motion to declare the January 27, 2024 search protocol inadmissible and to drop drug charges. The judge accepted the motion but said the decision will be made in the deliberation room along with the final verdict. A motion to summon Colonel Mursodikov was denied. The trial has moved to the stage of judicial arguments.
