Uzbekistan's Migration Agency announced a significant agreement with France to expand cooperation in agriculture, specifically involving Uzbek workers in seasonal vineyard labor. A delegation comprising representatives from the Migration Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Uzbek embassy in France conducted the negotiations.
The agreement with the French National Federation of Agricultural Producers (FNSEA) will see Uzbek nationals recruited for seasonal work in vineyards. Starting this summer, a pilot project will send 50 candidates to France for the first time.
Additionally, a deal was signed with Sélect Recruiting Service for candidate selection and placement. Cooperation with CFA AC Paris was established in a 'study + work' format, aiming to create opportunities for studying and working in the French restaurant industry.
To implement these agreements, talks were held with officials from France's Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior, and Education, as well as the public employment service France Travail, the CCI Île-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the AP-HP Paris public hospital service.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan plans to broaden its labor migration geography and enhance training for high-paying jobs abroad. Over 100,000 applications for specialists have already been received from abroad. The government proposes covering language learning and exam costs.
At a meeting on April 20, the president emphasized the need to expand seasonal work directions, tasking the development of cooperation with the US, UK, France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, and South Korea based on 12 new international agreements.
